Concept of Dīn ( Religion)

الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمْ الإِسْلاَمَ دینا (۵: ۳)

“Today I have perfected your religion for you, and fulfilled My favor upon you and favored your (this) religion of Islam.” -Al Quran ( 5:3)

And this verse was revealed when Natiq appointed his successor, and the Muslims took a pledge that they would obey him.
